We focus on community involvement, as well as maintaining the ideals as set forth by the Late Great Bird of the Galaxy, Gene Roddenberry. All Las Vegas area Star Trek fans are encouraged to join us on our continuing mission. Since 2005, the USS Las Vegas has been working in the community, exploring new places and having a great time. USS LAS VEGAS VOLUNTEERING FOR MDA TELETHON AGAIN THIS YEAR The officers and crew of the USS Las Vegas will once volunteer to work the phones during the 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon this Labor Day Weekend. Watch for the officers and crew during the breaks.
WEEKLY STAR TREK ONLINE GAME PLAY Join some of the officers and crew of the USS Las Vegas each Sunday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Pacific Time, for a team event in the Star Trek Online Game. Go to www.startrekonline.com to get your membership to the game, then outfit your ship and join our fleet to battle those pesky Klingons, Romulans and other villians each week. The best way to communicate during game play is via a voice chat and one of our members hosts a Ventrilo server that's great for in-game voice chatting. The software is free and you just need a microphone and speakers. Visit http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php to get the software. CREW OF THE USS LAS VEGAS The officers and crew of the USS Las Vegas, along with special guests, were allowed access to the Enterprise 1701-D Bridge set located at Star Trek: The Experience prior to the closure of STTE. A crew photo was taken and then additional photos were taken by crew members. The USS Las Vegas has been host to the captain of a local Klingon club, the IKV Kahless-ro, for several meetings. If you're interested in learning more about Klingons, visit their website by clicking here. You can also check out their logo on our Links page. The USS Las Vegas is always looking for new members. We are looking for any and all Star Trek fans to join us as we continue to celebrate the world of Star Trek. Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. Membership in the IFT and the USS Las Vegas is only $14 per year for officers and even less for enlisted crew and family memberships. Upcoming events include local civic activities, charitable activities, away missions with other Star Trek clubs, i.e. Disneyland (Mouse Trek), Universal Studios-Hollywood (Jurassic Trek), and other local area amusements.
